This position will provide operational labor in support of processing steel and provide Tundish Repair. Responsibilities: • Cut out and clean the tundish boxes. • Install the gates and tundish furniture into the boxes. • Move the boxes with an overhead crane. • Install stopper rods into the boxes. • Strip the boxes down when they come back down from the cast floor. Requirements: • Must have prior refractory (mason) experience • Must pass both written and hands on assessment • Must have minimum of HS Diploma or GED • Must have minimum 1 year manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent • Must be willing/able to work rotating shift work including weekends and holidays - this is a 365/7/24 hour operation - does not close - overtime work is required as needed and may be mandated • Must be capable and willing to be trained on crane and forklift operations • Safety is #1 - Must be able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required which includes harnesses (work may be performed at heights requiring wearing of harnesses or climbing up/down stairs; ladders; etc.); protective clothing; hard hats; metatarsal boots; safety glasses; hearing protection; and, when necessary, respirator. • Punctuality, consistent attendance, and self-direction is required for the success of the operation Preferred Skills: • Add preferred skills in preferred skills section in bullet form Read more
