Responsibilities
• Expertise in Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Community-based Solutions (CbS) projects: The candidate should have in-depth knowledge and experience in implementing NbS and CbS projects, understanding their principles, and applying best practices.
• End-to-end management of NbS and CbS projects: The candidate should be capable of handling all aspects of NbS and CbS projects, including project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. They should ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet the desired environmental and social outcomes.
• Communication and collaboration: The candidate should possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage and work with various stakeholders, including NGOs, FPOs (Farmers Producer Organizations), local communities, and government agencies. They should build strong relationships and foster collaborations to achieve project objectives.
• Carbon market expertise: The candidate should have a good understanding of carbon markets, including the voluntary and compliance markets. They should be knowledgeable about relevant regulations, policies, and market mechanisms related to carbon trading and carbon credits.
• GHG accounting and reporting: The candidate should be proficient in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methods and frameworks, such as the GHG Protocol, and be able to accurately measure, calculate, and report emissions reductions and removals associated with NbS and CbS projects.
• Knowledge of GHG and carbon standards: The candidate should be familiar with various GHG and carbon standards, such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard, and Climate, Community Biodiversity (CCB) Standards. They should understand the requirements and guidelines for project certification and verification processes.
• Financial and project management: The candidate should have strong project management skills, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management. They should ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
• Impact assessment and monitoring: The candidate should be able to conduct comprehensive impact assessments of NbS and CbS projects, including environmental, social, and economic aspects. They should establish appropriate monitoring systems to track project performance and evaluate the achievement of sustainability goals.
• Policy and regulatory compliance: The candidate should stay updated with relevant policies, regulations, and international frameworks related to carbon management and sustainability. They should ensure projects align with applicable standards and comply with legal requirements.
• Continuous learning and professional development: The candidate should have a proactive approach to stay abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in the field of carbon consultancy and sustainability.
