Prestige Car Parts Ltd is a leading name in auto-recycling industry. We specialize in Spare Parts New and Used for Audi – BMW – Volkswagen and Mercedes.

We are based in Penrose, Auckland, with services extending throughout the nation. We deliver used-genuine auto parts throughout New Zealand.

We are growing and we are growing fast. We’ve an amazing full-time opportunity for Diesel Motor Mechanic who knows every bit and part of a vehicle. If you feel confident talking about detecting, diagnosing engines, repairing vehicles, and have some skills over the testing and adjusting mechanical parts then you might be ‘the one’ we are looking for.

We are currently seeking applicants (three diesel motor- general positions). The eligible candidates should have either relevant NZ registered Level 4 qualification or at least three years of relevant work experience; be able to work under pressure.

This Position is the a full time / permanent role, minimum of 35 - 40 hours per week, with an hourly rate between $30.00 - $35.00.

As your daily tasks as motor mechanic - general will include:

Maintains, tests and repairs petrol engines and the mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes. Registration or licensing may be required.

Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts

Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts

Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed

Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations

Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired

Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers

May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness Inspect and perform routine check-ups of key components including engine, steering, transmission, suspension, and brakes

Proven experience as in auto parts industry.

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Must have a clean record.

Must be drug-free, as the job requires complete focus.
