Motel Manager
We are looking for a dedicated Motel Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily motel operations to ensure a smooth and welcoming guest experience, including check-ins, check-outs, and housekeeping coordination.
Check and manage reservations across booking platforms and direct channels, ensuring optimal occupancy rates.
Monitor and manage inventory of room supplies, linen, amenities, and maintenance tools, ensuring timely replenishment and minimal wastage.
Develop and implement room pricing strategies and promotional packages to remain competitive in the local accommodation market.
Lead sales and marketing initiatives, including online presence management (website, social media, and booking platforms) to drive bookings and revenue.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and fire safety regulations, especially where complimentary meals or hot beverages are provided.
Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance staff, promoting a motivated and service-oriented team culture.
Manage payroll, rosters, and leave planning to maintain adequate staffing while controlling labor costs.
Oversee accurate cash handling, EFTPOS/POS operations, and prepare daily reconciliations and banking.
Coordinate with the motel’s accountant for budgeting, financial reporting, GST filing, and end-of-year compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, service providers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods and services.
Introduce and oversee additional revenue strategies such as food delivery services, event hosting, and long-stay packages as applicable.
Ensure ongoing compliance with all health and safety, accommodation licensing, and employment law requirements.
Key Requirements:
Qualification/Work experience: Candidate should have either of the following:
- NZQF Diploma level 4 or equivalent or higher, OR,
-At least three years of relevant experience.
Strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage inventory, sales, and staff effectively.
Knowledge of fuel station safety and food hygiene regulations.
Sales-driven mindset with a focus on profitability and growth.
