Lennox and Addington County General Hospital S.E.I.U Local 1, Canada – Paramedical Technician II (Phlebotomist/CPS Technician) – Casual Vacancy
Area of Assignment: Laboratory
Basic Function and Scope: The Technician is responsible for the collection of specimens for the Laboratory, laboratory technical support and application of cardiopulmonary services.
Hours of Work: All Shifts.
Pay Rate: Will be in accordance with the Wage Scale of the S.E.I.U. Local 1 Canada, Paramedical Unit Collective Agreement, classification of Tech 2 - Phlebotomist.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Post-secondary education in a related field;
• Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
• Current B.C.L.S. certification.
Experience:
• Previous training and recent experience in phlebotomy.
Required Skills:
• Must meet qualifications of the Laboratory Specimen Collection Centre Licensing Act, R.S.O. 1990, Ontario Regulation 45/22;
• Demonstrated knowledge of phlebotomy;
• Computer literate and good keyboarding skills;
• Good organizational skills;
• Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and efficiently;
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
• Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.

• The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
