Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Material Handling Equipment Construction Consultant to support a landmark port infrastructure and logistics transformation project in Liberia. This opportunity is with a globally recognized management consulting firm engaged by a leading resources-sector client.
The role is ideal for a senior engineering or project delivery professional with deep expertise in the construction and integration of heavy bulk material handling systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of cargo handling infrastructure—critical to the future performance and operational readiness of the port.
Location: On-site in Liberia (6 weeks on / 2 weeks off in India)
Duration: 6–9 months (contractual)
Role Responsibilities
• Oversee construction and installation of large-scale port cargo handling equipment (e.g., ship loaders, stacker-reclaimers, conveyors)
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEM vendors, and engineering teams on specifications and execution planning
• Review engineering designs, QA/QC documentation, and construction milestones to ensure technical compliance
• Troubleshoot on-site execution challenges and enforce safety and quality standards
• Support pre-commissioning and integration with broader port infrastructure systems
Skills Qualifications
• 5–15 years of experience in heavy industrial, port, or mining projects with a focus on material handling systems
• Technical expertise in construction and integration of structural, mechanical, and electrical components
• Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of international QA/QC and HSE standards
• Excellent stakeholder coordination and on-ground project execution capabilities
Other Information
• Role requires full-time, on-site presence in Liberia
• Work cycle: 6 weeks in Liberia / 2 weeks back in India (round-trip travel provided)
• All accommodation and in-country logistics handled by the client
• The consultant will work as part of an established team from a top-tier consulting firm
