DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Key job responsibilities
Follow work instructions and safety procedures
Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
Experience in a fast-paced production environment
Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Key job responsibilities

Understand Amazon supply chain technology systems, people, and process at a level of depth required to lead new or existing programs
Collaborate and lead internal business units including supply chain colleagues, deliver experience product, field operations, transportation, finance, research, science, technology, and engineering teams to effectively integrate new store concepts and delivery products
Mine data quickly and efficiently to develop creative solutions to emerging customer problems and appropriate supply chain metrics to measure new product success
Creating reports and process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and quality of execution
Communicate effectively both written and verbally with both external customers (Service Providers, Carriers, Vendors) and internal customers (Finance, Technology, Site Leadership, Linehaul providers, etc)
Communicating goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams to gain buy-in and delivery to project schedules
Working within time constraints; problem solve, remove barriers, and coordinate with stakeholders
A day in the life
A day would generally include a close connection to daily outcome metrics across similar lines of business and staying close to industry trends; learning what does and does not resonate with customers. Bringing these learnings into the workplace the individual in this role will be a resource to the entire supply chain organization, helping to organize the team programmatically to lead cross functional projects to completion and/or maturation. You will partner very heavily with FC operations, Amazon Flex, Customer Service, and other 1P quality teams. This individual should excel at earning trust, have a willingness to step into and solve problems, and think long term to solve our biggest problems.
About the team
The team is in a rapid growth phase both with our existing business and the weekly addition of new selection and deliver product lines. With this growth comes a fast pace environment where problems and corresponding solutions have a cycle time of 24 hours. The environment represents a start up with the administrative systems and mechanisms that come within a large corporation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of team management experience
5+ years of supply chain experience
Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
