The Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean provides leadership in academic programming and services to the campus, ensuring a positive and academically responsive environment to change. Within the broader University community, the Vice-Principal Academic Dean represents the policies and points of view of U of T Scarborough. Within U of T Scarborough, the Vice-Principal Dean promotes the teaching, research, and scholarship of the faculty, the career development of the administrative staff, and the overall well-being of students.


The Manager, Academic Program Reviews Quality Assurance is responsible for managing and supporting a wide range of high-level and confidential activities related to the creation, review and closure of University of Toronto Scarborough academic programs and units as part of the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process. Using an inclusive excellence lens to academic programs and curriculum renewal, they will work under the direction of the Vice Deans Teaching, Learning Undergraduate Programs and Graduate Postdoctoral Studies, Associate Deans, Special Advisors and Assistant Dean, Office of the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean. With a particular responsibility for coordinating and providing expert advice relative to academic change and reviews across the division, key responsibilities include academic planning, directly managing and supporting units undergoing academic change, and review processes for the division, managing a large volume of complex correspondence on behalf of the Vice-Principal Academic Dean and other academic leaders in the unit, supporting the development and implementation of new policy initiatives, analysis of existing policies; and acting as a liaison with members of the Office of the Vice-Provost, Academic Programs, and with senior academic administrators and staff in academic units across all three campuses; directly supporting units undergoing academic change, and managing the academic planning and reviews support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum five (5) years of recent and related experience in a university environment. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in undergraduate and graduate program structures, standards, and expectations across the full range of diverse programs within a university environment. Knowledge and understanding of university governance processes. Familiarity with University structures, Faculty priorities, governance practices, and University policies and procedures.
