Your New Role


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Scotland Northern Ireland Finance team. This role is based working from our Polmadie, Glasgow office. The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.


In this role, you will be responsible for supporting management with quality information and assisting in delivering improved results through effective controls and process challenges. You will report to Finance Manager and bring an additional layer of in-depth analysis and control within the cost management of our Transport Infrastructure contracts.


You will be responsible for:


Support management with quality information and assist in delivering improved results through effective controls and process challenges.
Produce detailed management reports and variance analysis against budget headings.
Interrogate contract costs and enhance visibility in regular reports to non-finance managers.
Produce monthly management accounts and prepare periodic budgets and forecasts for PL, Balance Sheet, and cash flows.
Oversee the day-to-day accounting processes for weekly payments.

Make recommendations to improve current systems and processes.
Work onsite three days a week and two days from home.
Report finance information to non-finance managers in an understandable manner.
Develop and build management information to assist with decision-making.
Update cost trackers accurately to control costs.
Produce ad hoc information/reports at short notice.

We want to hear from you if you have/are:


Part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).
Experienced in Management Accounts.
Ability to meet tight deadlines with a high degree of quality and understanding.
Strong IT skills, including good knowledge of SAP, Excel, and Power BI/Power Apps.
Good knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations, and reporting requirements, with experience in forecasting.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Proactive and organised, able to obtain the correct information from stakeholders in a timely manner.
Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
