The role
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the Property Services team to oversee and maintain pristine functionality of all facilities at Crown Sydney. This newly created role will oversee all equipment, facade, finishes, FFE and structures, ensuring they meet the highest standards of luxury and performance.
Working alongside a team of dedicated professionals, this role is responsible for managing a team of external service providers, conducting regular quality inspection and coordinating preventative maintenance to minimise disruptions to premium guest experiences. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders and departments including hotels, gaming, FB, spa leisure, as well as providing support to the hotel-branded residence at One Barangaroo as required.
This is a dynamic opportunity that requires someone with strong understanding of guest expectations within premium environment to ensure that Crown Sydney continuously meets the standards, appearance and performance of a luxury hotel. You’ll need strong leadership, technical expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence to be successful in this role.
Some of the key responsibilities will involve:
Communicating and collaborating with all levels of stakeholders to address immediate repair needs and plan long-term improvements
Managing facilities contractors to ensure timeline repair, replacement, or upgrades to high end fixtures, fittings, finishes throughout the resort complex (painters, carpenters, furniture refinishers, metalworkers, stone masons, facade technicians, glazing workers, carpet layers, and kitchen equipment repair technicians
Driving business improvement projects to reduce annual maintenance expenses while maintaining exceptional property presentation
Improving proactive and preventive maintenance regimes to achieve Crown Sydney standards
Developing the internal operational teams to deliver effective maintenance programs, including craftsmanship and quality requirements
Creating a detailed schedule of maintenance for the property, including a long-term strategy for equipment replacement to ensure that any expenditure is in-line with procurement policy budget
You’ll have:
A post-graduate Degree or Diploma in a related discipline and/or a relevant Trade qualification
Strong building and construction management skills, with experience in a commercial or operational/industrial environments
Deep project and financial management experience with ability to identify, justify and monitor expenditure to enhance maintenance performance in-line with budgets and expenditure
Demonstrated ability in contract writing, review and negotiation, as well as managing an array of technical services suppliers
Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work at pace without compromising on detail, safety or impacting guest satisfaction
A passion for leading, coaching and mentoring junior maintenance operations team members, contributing to their development
