About the role
We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a self-motivated and energetic Legal Assistant to join our friendly Banking Finance team in a full-time, permanent capacity, in our Melbourne office.
In this role, you will be working closely with a team of highly skilled lawyers and group of legal assistants to provide a high level of legal administrative support to our fee earners and clients. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, energetic team player who is looking for an opportunity to add value to a close-knit team and work collaboratively to learn about us, our clients and our matters.
This role offers plenty of variety, with the key responsibilities and duties including:
Creating, editing and formatting a range of documents;
Drafting legal correspondence and documentation;
Time entry, preparing bills and processing monthly billing;
Coordinating meetings (including proactive support for the lawyers when they are in meetings) and diary management;
Opening and closing of matters, including filing and archiving; and
Other general administrative duties.
About you
You are self-motivated and adaptable in a dynamic environment. You are also a team player and pride yourself on exceeding expectations. A strong work ethic and commitment to your role will see you succeed in this position.
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will have the following:
At least 2 years’ Legal Assistant experience preferably within Corporate or Commercial law practices;
A high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels;
A proactive approach, enthusiasm to work independently and excellent organisational skills;
Strong typing and computer skills, and highly competent in the Microsoft Office Suite and relevant legal software programs; and
The ability to produce accurate, high quality work
