Lease Administrator – Hybrid Downtown – Up to $85K
Job description
Position: Lease Administrator
Location: Downtown Montreal
Salary: Up to $85,000 (based on experience)
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote
We are currently looking for a Lease Administrator with strong collections experience to join our team in a hybrid role based in Downtown Montreal. In this position, you’ll be responsible for managing lease-related accounting tasks and overseeing collections for a portfolio of approximately 250 tenants. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process daily deposits and payments in the accounting system, including recurring entries.
- Ensure accurate transaction posting and perform necessary adjustments.
- Conduct collection follow-ups on overdue accounts (collections represent approx. 10% of the role).
- Negotiate repayment terms and resolve outstanding tenant issues.
- Prepare escalation files and coordinate with internal departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports, including aging and payment trend reports.
- Collaborate with the Controller to achieve collections targets and manage accounts receivable.
- Provide general administrative support and handle related tasks as required.
- Analyze payment trends using Excel and provide historical data comparisons.
Qualifications:
- DEC or equivalent in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the real estate industry.
- Knowledge of Yardi is a strong asset.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy in data handling.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially for collections.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Professional, tactful, and solution-oriented in client interactions.
- Strong sense of confidentiality, integrity, and accountability.
