NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, is seeking a professional nurse leader and patient champion as Lead Nurse for the Theatre Department at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Department Details
The department has over 300 nurses and operating department practitioners supporting 20 operating theatres.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional leadership to ensure safe, effective, person-centred care.
• Develop policies and strategies to uphold professional standards and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
• Manage staff deployment to support maximum theatre activity within budget.
• Prioritize staff development, education, training, and wellbeing.
• Lead the redesign and development of theatre services through multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Partner with the Clinical Director to deliver the Department's Clinical Governance agenda and ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain a reputation for leadership and patient advocacy.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse/ODP, educated to degree level or equivalent, with a proven track record in a senior nursing/ODP role.
