Lead Mongo DBA
Job description
MBI Digital is looking for a Lead Mongo DB with 10+ year’s hands-on experience as DBA and 4+ years on MongoDB. The candidate should have understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code.
This is a 100% remote opportunity
Responsibilities and Duties
• 10+ year’s hands-on experience as DBA and 4+ years on MongoDB with Bachelor's degree
• Understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience leading a small team of resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
• Experience supporting Mongo deployments with multiple instances.
• Evaluate, plan and perform the DB upgrades
• Implementing best practices for backups, replication, and health checks
• Creating User Roles
• Installation and Migrate data across different databases
• Work closely with the application team to understand what changes are coming in a build/patch/hotfix, do an impact analysis, fine-tune the queries if any.
• Implement appropriate indexes for performance improvement.
• Fine-tune configurations – MongoDB and servers for performance improvement.
• Implement optimal backup and recovery.
• Understand and optimize query performance.
• Implement database security policies and audit logging mechanisms.
• Configure, monitor, validate Database monitoring and alerts.
• Create and publish database health checks to monitoring systems for the following:
• Identify slow queries
• Replication lags
• Node failures
• Index usage patterns
• CPU usage
• Memory usage
• Locks
• Number of connections
• Any other relevant params
• Maintain database configuration, support procedures and runbook.
• Troubleshoot Production issues and provide workarounds to restore business continuity.
• Experience working in virtualized and/or cloud environments.
