Laboratory Technician / Physico Chemical Testing - Apprenticeship

Join Labcorp's Physico Chemical Testing department in Eye, Suffolk, to develop lab skills and start a rewarding career.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Maintaining adequate stocks of consumable items and ordering stock where necessary.
• Cleaning and drying laboratory glassware.
• Assisting in the calibration and verification of routine laboratory equipment.
• Monitoring the temperatures of storage areas.
• Disposing of laboratory waste according to proper procedures.
• Assisting with specimen shipments.
• General housekeeping to maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the laboratory area.
About You
Candidates should possess:
• An A-level in Biology or Chemistry is preferred but not essential.
• Relevant work experience or a Level 3 science-based qualification is beneficial.
• A passion for science and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management and prioritization skills to balance work and college demands.

Training Development
• Undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship over 24 months.
• If holding an A Level in a scientific subject, study for a Level 4 HNC in Applied Science.

Career Progression
Option to progress to a Level 5 or Level 6 Degree qualification or beyond to a Master's Qualification.
