Overview
FSI Architecture is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our passionate, collaborative team of professionals. FSI is poised to grow, and this position would be a key pillar in helping to drive that growth.
FSI Architecture is a New York City based full-service architecture firm specializing in interior and exterior preservation, restoration, and investigation.
Successful candidates will have experience working on a variety of building related mechanical projects end to end, from inspection through execution. Candidates should be self-motivated, well rounded, and capable of multi-tasking across projects. All prospective applicants must be U.S. citizens or be eligible to work in the United States (unfortunately, we are not offering sponsorship at this time).
Candidate Qualifications:
BS in ME, AE or equivalent from an ABET Accredited University/College
5-8+ years of professional experience with a BS or 3+ years of Professional Experience with a MS
A PE License or EIT Certification preferred
Experience with drafting and detailing (AutoCAD)
Knowledge/Experience with NYC building codes & authorities having jurisdiction
Ability to observe, evaluate, and document site conditions and compile in written reports
Experience with field testing and measurement tools
Well-rounded communication skills, both oral & written
Knowledge of tangential areas of engineering is a plus
Ability to multi-task and work alongside colleagues in a multi-disciplinary office environment
Summary of Responsibilities:
Design and engineer building related mechanical systems in existing and new spaces
Calculate and interpret mechanical loads to inform appropriate solutions
Drafting (AutoCAD/Revit) of mechanical sets
Coordination and communication with clients to understand requirements, scope out work, responding to client inquiries, and successfully delivering desired outcomes on projects
Perform and oversee field work, such as site inspections, detailing pertinent observations, and completing/reviewing reports and drawings
