The D. E. Shaw group seeks a specialist to join its Operational Due Diligence team within the Investor Relations group. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting current and prospective investors by providing insight into the operational workings of the firm and its funds. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the firm to address inquiries and deliver high-quality client service to a broad range of sophisticated investors and prospects.

What you’ll do day-to-day

Serve as a primary point of contact for operational due diligence requests from investors and prospects, providing clear and comprehensive information about the firm’s processes and controls.
Coordinate and participate in meetings and calls with clients, ensuring their questions are addressed with accuracy and professionalism.
Manage and implement projects to support the team’s operational infrastructure, with a focus on data integrity and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with internal groups to gather and synthesize information for investor communications and contribute to ongoing enhancements in client service delivery.

Who we’re looking for
A bachelor’s degree or higher in any field of study and at least seven years of relevant experience in operational due diligence, client service, accounting, or a related field.
Demonstrated fluency in reading and interpreting financial statements.
Exceptional sensitivity to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with sophisticated investors and prospects.
Knowledge of alternative investments is preferred, but not required.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $170,000 to $220,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
