Department Summary
The Intermittent Transit Driver supports students, faculty/staff and visitors of Ohio University to include fixed route, on-demand, accessibility special event transportation. May operate a variety of vehicle types including 14 passenger shuttle buses, passenger vans, and sedans. Provides superior customer service and safe, efficient transport to customers with adherence to all university, state, and federal laws and regulations. Assists with luggage loading as needed. Performs routine vehicle inspection and vehicle detailing/cleaning activities and maintains proper transportation documentation to ensure compliance with safety and operating standards. Successful candidates will be required to successfully pass background checks, and drug/alcohol screenings during course of employment.
A valid Class D license with demonstrated safe driving record is required.
Position Profile
Monitors campus transportation and parking activities and compliance with established policies. Responsible for overseeing permit parking, parking enforcement, event transportation, business transportation, campus transit service, safety and training, and facility and operations maintenance.
