Dehcho Divisional Education Council invites applications for the 2024-2025 school year from certified teachers. Echo Dene School offers a diverse range of programs to 105 students in a JK-K through grade 12 school. School programs support language and cultural heritage of the students in an inclusive environment.

Available Positions: Indigenous Language Educator



Qualifications:

The applicant:

Must hold or be eligible for a Northwest Territories Professional Teaching Certificate.
Proficiency in speaking Dene Zhatie language is required.
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with students and their parents in multi-grade environments.
Direct experience with the Northwest Territories curricula is preferred.
Familiarity with the "Our Languages Curriculum" is an asset.
Experience in promoting and organizing culturally appropriate activities is highly desirable.
The ability to teach additional courses from JK-12 would be considered an asset.
Preference will be given to candidates who identify as Indigenous Dene.
