• Kitchen management: Setting up the kitchen, delegating tasks, and supervising cooks
• Menu planning: Creating a menu that considers budget and seasonal ingredients
• Food safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining kitchen hygiene
• Quality control: Tasting meals and visually inspecting dishes to ensure quality
• Staff training: Training staff on how to prepare and cook menu items
• Inventory: Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock
