General Manager - Food and Beverage Venues
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the ARC restaurant and In Room Dining outlets at the Fairmont Waterfront. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with a proven track record in driving revenue, upholding Forbes and LQA standards, and fostering a luxury service culture.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Development:
• Partner with the ARC Restaurant Chef to execute flawless operations
• Recruit, train, and mentor staff, ensuring a guest-centric mindset
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Empower colleagues to resolve guest issues promptly
Revenue Generation:
• Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue and maximize profitability, collaborating with marketing on promotions and social events
• Ensure accurate forecasting and strategies to meet financial goals, analyze reports, identify growth opportunities, and optimize sales
• Implement cost control measures across food, beverage, labor, and operating expenses
Forbes and LQA Standards:
• Uphold the highest standards of excellence as set by Forbes and LQA
Sustainability, Health, and Safety Compliance:
• Participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program and Food Safety Committee, determining department-specific actions
• Maintain adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff, and implementing best practices in food handling, sanitation, and safety
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years in a senior management role within a luxury restaurant or hotel
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to drive revenue and meet financial targets
• Strong understanding of Forbes and LQA standards and a commitment to exceptional guest service
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate diverse teams
• Attention to detail and high standards in restaurant operations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Open Table, Opera, and Silverware

We are currently searching for a superstar **Houseperson** to join our Housekeeping Team. This is a **Full Time** position, earning a full wage of **$26.50 per hour **(following the completion of an initial 3 month probationary period).
• *JOB REQUIREMENTS**
With personal commitment and an emotional sense of gracious hospitality, make the most positive impact on guest experiences throughout all aspects of their stay by ensuring overall cleanliness, detail and care of hotel areas and guest rooms, maximizing the balance between Colleague, Guest and Owner satisfaction. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communicate with internal colleagues to advise and attend all the guest(s) service needs, items which require maintenance, issues or concerns in a prompt, proactive manner as appropriate
- Clean and maintain public restrooms, public areas, back-of-house, and other assigned work areas within hotel and its surroundings using approved hotel products and equipment, to hotel housekeeping standard
- Assist in the receiving of Housekeeping stock and prepare and maintain Housekeeping storage areas to Shangri-La standards of cleanliness and safety
- Provide waste removal and janitorial duties specific to special cleaning projects, as assigned.
- Removes trash collected by room attendants from service areas.
- Deliver towels, toiletries, cribs, roll-away beds and other requested items to the guest rooms.
- Pickup clean linens and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry, as required.
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and shampoo machine.
- Assist in the cleaning of guest rooms, including changing of sheets and removal of garbage
- Collects soiled linen for laundering.
- Assist in laundry area of hotel, as required.
- Assist other Housekeeping Colleagues with the preparation of guest rooms, as assigned
- Assist room attendants with moving heavy furniture items, as required
- Complete deep cleaning tasks, as assigned such as sweeping, mopping floors and washing windows
- Clean all public areas as required following department standard operating procedures.
- Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
- Report all defects and damage to Housekeeping Management to ensure it is logged and actioned
- Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required.
