Homeroom Teacher Grade 3/4
Star Academy has a dedicated teaching and administrative team, small class sizes, mixed age groupings, and an 11-month school calendar.
The ideal applicant will
· Have Junior level qualifications
· TEACHING EXPERIENCE IN ONTARIO
· Have experience teaching mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies
· Have experience teaching a split-grade class
· Be involved in school life beyond the classroom including clubs, activities, duties
Other:
· Provide proof of membership in the Ontario College of Teachers
· Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Google Drive
· Demonstrated talent for teaching, coaching, mentoring, and inspiring students
· Be able to work flexibly and adapt to a constantly changing environment
· Be able to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team
· Have excellent communication skills (oral and written) for communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
· Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
· Provide a recent criminal reference check
