About Us
The Owl’s Nest is a holistic, nature-based learning community rooted in connection, to ourselves, each other, and the land. Located on a beautiful 75-acre rural property in Harriston, Ontario, we serve children from preschool through Grade 8 through a deeply intentional curriculum that is a play-rich, multi-age learning model that honours curiosity, creativity, and care.
We are expanding! For the 2025–2026 school year, we are seeking aligned, passionate, and grounded educators to join our growing team across multiple age groups.
We’re Hiring for the Following Roles:
Kindergarten to Grade 1 Lead Teacher (3 or 5 days)
Grade 2 to 4 Lead Teacher (3 or 5 days)
Grade 4 to 8 Lead Teacher (3 or 5 days)

Each role blends academic foundations with holistic approaches: literacy, numeracy, math, outdoor education, storytelling, arts, and community-based learning. Multi-age learning, land connection, and child-led inquiry are at the heart of all programs.

Familiar with (or excited to learn) nature-based, play-based, Reggio-inspired, and inquiry-driven approaches
Skilled in observation and documentation of learning
Comfortable planning foundational literacy and numeracy in developmentally appropriate ways
Are knowledgeable in or excited to learn about the Science of Reading and holistic math strategies
Passionate about working collaboratively in a small team of aligned, creative educators
Grounded, self-directed, and able to adapt with care and flexibility
Comfortable learning and teaching outdoors year-round
Assets:
OCT, ECE, Forest School Practitioner, or Waldorf/Montessori certification
