Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice
The HET / Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice reports to the Superintendent Journeyman HET to safely and accurately service and repair heavy equipment, and support the needs of the Mechanic Shop.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working 5 - 6 days a week, 8 - 10 hours a day.
Service and repair heavy equipment (excavators, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, trenchers), vehicles, trailers, and other associated equipment (generators, man lifts, light plants, drills).
Assist journeymen HET with maintenance of the fleet.
Preform general shop labour and housekeeping duties.
Drive equipment and trucks in and out of the shop.
Clean the equipment and trucks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Apprentice HET with active AIT Apprenticeship records.
Ability to lift 75lbs.
Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract.
Prior knowledge of Heavy equipment of how maintain them.
Ability to troubleshoot and self-start to solve problems.
Experience in leadership roles will be considered an asset.
Willingness to learn.
