Job description
General Description:

The Security Guard is responsible for an efficient, and effective security service. Ensures employee safety and protects company assets i.e. vandalism, theft of equipment and/or finished goods in multiple company buildings.

Specific Duties:
• Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in line with the company’s objectives and policies at all times.
• Follows procedures while adhering to the Occupational, Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A) guidelines.
• Completes and verifies records to document all work.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Controls incoming and outgoing traffic by directing drivers.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
• Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
• Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues.
• Check purses, pockets, and bags for suspicious items.
• Maintain, inspect, and operate building alarm and fire systems.

Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Long periods of standing and/or walking,
• Walking on hard cement and asphalt surfaces throughout the shift.

Qualifications:
• High school education or equivalent.
• Valid CA State Guard Card
• Minimum 1-year experience in Security Loss Prevention role; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
• Prefer experience in Law Enforcement, Fire Department, Security or
• Military (with experience in personal security)
• Thorough understanding of security operations is required.
• Intermediate Reporting, Surveillance, Investigative, Observance skills.
• Basic knowledge of safety inspections and burglar and fire alarm systems.
• Basic working knowledge and understanding of EHS matters, including laws and regulations.
• Experience, ability, and willingness to respond to emergency situations, including working with management to provide a safe work environment.
• Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
• Advanced PC Knowledge i.e., MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.
• Able to work independently and as a team player.
• Flexibility to work special schedules as required satisfying job requirements.
• Good attendance record.
• Self-Management: Display initiative, effort excellent organizational and planning skills, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
• Teamwork: Build and sustain cooperative working relationships and has strong leadership skills and ability.
• Achieving thoroughness and accuracy in completing multiple prioritized projects.
• Problem Solving: Identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.
• Good time-management skills
• Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfying job requirements.
• Constantly work to improve processes.
• Makes suggestions for improvements.
• Communicates and collaborate with management.

• Outdoor environment when needed
• Moderate to heavy traffic including forklifts
