Miri Piri Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 5 Teacher to join our academic team. As a Grade 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for students. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for delivering a dynamic and engaging curriculum across multiple subjects while ensuring that the students' academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver high-quality instruction in subjects including, but not limited to, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
• Lead daily meditation from the Kundalini Yoga tradition to start the day (training will be provided)
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active student participation and respect for diverse perspectives
• Develop lesson plans and teaching materials in alignment with the school's curriculum and educational goals
• Assess students' academic progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents
• Support students' personal growth and social development, fostering an environment of respect, empathy, and collaboration
• Incorporate creative and experiential learning strategies, including outdoor activities and project-based learning, to support holistic student development
• Coordinate with other teachers and staff to ensure seamless integration of academic, physical, artistic and spiritual education
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements
• Participate in school-wide events and activities, such as expeditions and extracurricular programs, that support students' academic and personal growth
• Foster a strong sense of responsibility and discipline in students, encouraging their self-reliance and respect for community
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field
• Prior teaching experience with Grade 5 students (preferred)
• Knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum or a similar educational framework
