Department Information
The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for: coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

Be the welcoming face of the Single Window Service Centre, providing essential services directly to the public.
Empower citizens by providing value-added information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of territorial and federal government programs and services.
Help community members access programs and services, assisting with forms and documentation, and overcoming language barriers.
Support government departments and agencies in better serving the community, acting as a vital link between residents and government.
Work independently while maintaining confidentiality and building trust within the community.
Participate in exciting community and interagency meetings, contributing to regional development and problem-solving.
We're Looking for Someone With:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing top-notch customer service.
Knowledge of government services and the ability to interpret and explain programs, policies, and procedures.
Strong Analytical skills to research, interpret, and clearly explain information.
Proficiency with computers and a willingness to learn and adapt.
The ability to work effectively under pressure in a multi-task environment.
A high degree of tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
The ability to speak the Indigenous language(s) of the community is a valuable asset!

TYPICALLY, THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE ATTAINED BY:
A minimum of a Grade Ten (10), with two (2) years' experience in an Administrative or Customer Service Representative capacity. Specifically, experience in the public sector, in a position involving the provision of a variety of services in an informational, public relations or problem-solving role is preferred. Education in a relevant Indigenous language would be an asset.
