General Handyman/woman
We are looking for highly skilled and well experienced trades person to fill the role of Handyman/woman, also known as a “Handyperson”. The successful candidate will be exceptionally knowledgeable and highly capable in areas of residential construction including, but not limited to:
drywall,
painting,
plumbing
tiling
carpentry
electrical
This position requires you to have your own tools.
We will not be providing additional training for someone who is new to this profession.
The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively, independently, and responsibly without supervision. We expect punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude towards our clients and the tasks at hand. A strong work ethic and precision are essential for consistently delivering a high quality of work and remaining on schedule.
The MUST haves for this position are:
Standard Tools to perform handyperson carpentry tasks
Physically fit capable of performing manual labour daily.
Great communication and problem-solving skills for any issues that arise, changes to scope of work, and identifying tools or materials needed.
Work well independently and as a team member
Familiarity with Workplace Safety Safe Lifting Procedures
Comprehensive knowledge of construction tools, equipment materials
Various techniques of repairing and installing materials in residential homes
Comfortably and efficiently complete drywall repairs and painting
Experience identifying and repairing water leak/damage.
Meticulous attention to detail and effective time management
The responsibilities duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Handyperson, general repair maintenance work
Drywall repairs painting
Using hand and power tools to accurately measure, cut and shape wood and other building material needed for the project.
Minor repairs and adjustments (i.e. changing door locks, closer and hinges, removal of damaged materials, baseboards and door trims, etc.)
Constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing items such as doors, windows, cabinets, and shelves
Finishing adjustments (installing light fixtures, tiling, changing cupboard and drawer hardware, etc)
Leak investigation repair – ability to identify origin of water leak, provide repair prevention of future leaks, and repair any damage caused
Cleaning of facilities area - such as yards (front and back), garbage junk removal, power wash decks and walkways.
Communicate with office to create effective work plans timelines and follow as laid out.
Assist accompany other tradespeople when required
Full Cleanup disposal of materials used
