Financial Controller
Job description
Reporting to the CFO and working alongside all department heads, the Financial Controller will be an exceptional accountant with hands-on experience. The Financial Controller supervises all accounting related activities of the business. Duties include maintaining financial internal controls, presenting financial reports and recommendations to the executive team, overseeing the preparation of budgets and providing commercial expertise. The Financial Controller will provide line manager support to a small, knowledgeable finance team. Excellent communication skills are key.
Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of the finance function
• Lead the year-end close process and manage the relationship with external auditors
• Deliver accurate and timely -level reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements across the group
• Build and manage robust financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning
• Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to the senior leadership team
• Business partnering to provide financial insights and support decision-making; bridging the gap between finance and all other departments
• Ensure tax, legal and financial regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
• Own and evolve internal controls and the group's risk and control matrix
• Develop and implement group accounting policies and control frameworks
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
• Lead, develop and mentor the Finance Team
• Stay ahead of GAAP changes and manage implementations
• Promote best practice and continuous improvement across finance functions
You will:
• Hold ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualifications with significant post-qualified experience
• Have a proactive mindset, high integrity, and a strong drive for excellence
• Be an excellent communicator - confident with senior stakeholders and external partners
• Have proven experience in a Financial Controller role
• Possess strong technical accounting expertise financial modelling skills
• Be an effective leader and collaborator, able to work cross-functionally and internationally
