Company: Event Support Team
Location: Head Office – School Lane, Exhall, CV7 9GE
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

At Event Support Team, we provide logistics, infrastructure, and operational support for some of the UK’s most exciting events. With a growing footprint and a fast-paced environment, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence behind the scenes.
We’re now looking for a hands-on and commercially focused Financial Controller to join our leadership team at our Exhall head office.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, reporting, and planning as the business continues to scale. You'll work closely with senior leadership, providing financial insights that help shape strategic decisions and support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
Lead and mentor a small finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
Manage cash flow, cost control, and financial risk
Prepare statutory accounts, VAT returns, and liaise with external auditors
Oversee payroll and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support business development
Drive system improvements and process automation across finance functions
What We're Looking For
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
Proven experience in a similar senior finance role
Strong technical accounting knowledge and a commercial mindset
Proficient with financial systems and advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Experience in events, logistics, or a fast-moving operational environment is desirable but not essential
