Full job description
We are looking for a Finance and Operations Officer to join our small team. This is a new role, with the flexibility to be tailored to an individual successful candidate.

You will be a key member of an eclectic and creative workforce, with the opportunity to make a real difference in the inclusive music world.

21 hours per week £19,874 p.a. (£33,124 p.a. FTE)
Hybrid working - hours are flexible between in-person and home
You will be responsible for the overall financial management of the organisation, working closely with the Creative Director to always ensure a clear, wider financial picture of the organisation.

You will have the opportunity to implement processes to streamline project operations, forecasting and budgeting. Operational responsibilities will involve project logistics.

Main duties:

Forecasting and budgeting - production of annual forecasts with key insights
Preparations of management accounts, cashflow and information for accountants to prepare statutory accounts
Produce budgets for projects
Produce budgets for funding applications
Identification and management of financial risk
Project logistics - calendar management, booking cover, ensuring project
delivery matches prepared budgets
Act as a critical friend to the Creative Director
Input on policies and compliance
Person specification - essential

Relevant financial or accounting qualification
Understanding of charity accounts
Experience producing financial updates for management and Boards
Experience of working with external accountant
Ability to plan
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to think strategically
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in use of accounting software.
Proficient in use of google drive
Competent in communicating via video conferencing
Excellent communication skills
Highly competent in teamworking and collaboration
Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders
Experience in reporting to funders
Ability to communicate to those with less financial expertise
An ability to look at everyone as an individual
Flexible with an understanding of how to work in a small team

Experience of working in a similar role within the third sector
Experience of working with arts organisations
Experience of SAGE accounting
Experience with google calendars
Understanding of neurodiversity and ability to take a person centered approach to communication
Understanding of impact of music for those with complex needs
Understanding of the wider issues around equity, equality and inclusive practice
Passion for equity, equality and inclusion
