Job description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the employee will provide safe, reliable, efficient and prompt transportation for personnel and food/supplies. Along with transportation, employee will also be responsible for miscellaneous tasks throughout workday as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
• A current Alaska Driver’s License and a clean, safe driving record
• NSTC Certification
• Alaska Food Worker Card
• High school education or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous expeditor/courier experience
• Previous experience in remote site camps
• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, and/or catering
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Transport personnel to and from various destinations on the North Slope
• Fill out required daily vehicle maintenance logs and travel logs
• Perform minor maintenance such as refueling the fuel tank, checking lights, oil levels, etc.
• Ensure the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle
• Ensure the vehicle receives regularly scheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance
• Assist passengers as needed to load luggage, personal belongings, etc. into and out of the vehicle
• Transport freight, mail packages, food and supplies on the North Slope
• Ability to work safety in harsh weather conditions
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
• Willingness to perform other duties as required in both food service and housekeeping/janitorial roles
• Willingness to work at various locations as required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. There may be a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items up to 50 pounds. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and Functional Capacity Exam.
