Exeter CA Field Technician
As a Vegetable Crop Specialist at the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Lindcove Research and Extension Center, you will be responsible for assisting with general agricultural operations in field, row, and vegetable crops. This position involves setting up and calibrating farm equipment, operating tractors and other equipment, and conducting pre-use inspections to ensure safety.
**Job Responsibilities Include:**
Setting up and calibrating farm equipment, including drip, furrow, flood, and sprinkler irrigation systems
Operating tractors, implements, trucks, and small handheld tools and equipment
Conducting pre-use inspections of vehicles and equipment to guarantee they are secure for use
Supporting the distribution and application of fertilizers and pesticides as needed
Collaborating in general cleaning, repair, and maintenance of apparatus and facilities
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
Secondary education diploma or equal mandatory; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree ideal
Background experience in agriculture or farming can be beneficial
Aptitude to operate under pressure and multitask
Excellent cooperation and issue resolving abilities
