ESOL Instructional Leader
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced ESOL Instructional Leader to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. This role is responsible for leading the implementation of English Language Learner programs in the Huntsville City School System.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive, educational courses of study for ELLs as approved by the HCS Board of Education.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and assist in the implementation and assessment of Individual Language Learner Plans (ILLP) for eligible students.
• Utilize current English language proficiency assessment results to inform English language instruction.
• Teach ELLs at assigned district schools in a manner that motivates students to succeed academically.
• Prepare accurate records, data, and documentation pertaining to students participating in the ESOL program.
• Create lesson plans that integrate English language development standards and core curriculum objectives.
• Maintain an orderly, functional environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with students' parents to establish effective rapport.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited university with valid Alabama teaching certification and ESOL teaching certification.
• Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
