Job Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire students and promote outstanding progress in English across KS3 and KS4.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the needs of all learners
Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE English Language and Literature)
Set high expectations for student behaviour, effort, and achievement
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted feedback and support
Contribute to the design and implementation of the English curriculum
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national curriculum requirements and GCSE specifications
Participate in school-wide assessment, reporting, and parents' evenings
Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise achievement and share best practice
Contribute to extracurricular English and literacy activities
Maintain accurate records in line with school policies
Participate in CPD, school training, and performance management reviews
Person Specification

Essential:

A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
A degree in English or a related subject
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
Passion for English and strong subject knowledge
High expectations for students of all backgrounds and abilities
Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
Commitment to continuous professional development
A willingness to support the values and ethos of the school
