Role Overview
Our client, a respected legal practice in Christchurch, seeks an experienced Employment Solicitor to advise on and manage Employment and Industrial Disputes matters. The role presents a unique opportunity to shape and define the company's Employment services.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and mediation skills, with previous experience in Employment Relations Authority hearings and the Employment Court. They will provide advice on employment contracts, discrimination, remuneration, compensation, employee benefits, termination, and unfair dismissal, as well as workplace privacy and health safety.
The successful candidate will lead and develop the practice's Employment services, forging relationships with new clients seeking assistance in Employment matters. In the initial phase, assisting in Family/Relationship Property or General Practice matters would be advantageous.
Selection Criteria:
Previous Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court experience;
The ability and empathy to interact confidently with a wide range of people;
Strong communication and mediation skills.
