The Role
The Strategy Project Management Branch provides the Policy Framework and associated support to Project and Product Management (PPM) teams in both the acquisition-focused and sustainment-focused System Program Office (SPO) environments.
The occupant will:
Exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a subject matter expert role,
Exercise sound decision making and judgement to manage, and provide expert advice relating to CASG PM Function information management systems and tools,
Have in-depth knowledge of PPM in a CASG/Defence environment and are responsible for the management, coordination, development, implementation, compliance and review of CASG PM Function’s information and data,
Ensure effective and contemporary information, guidance and support is available to the broader workforce in order to meet Defence outcomes,
Be responsible for actively engaging with key stakeholders to ensure that PPM information outcomes and impacts are well considered across CASG/Defence policy and data landscape.
About our Team
CASG Strategy and Project Management Branch is responsible for best practice in Program, Project and Product Management and for leading and defining new ways of doing business that is responsive to Defence's future capability requirements. The directorates within this branch are leading improvements and delivery of Project and Product Management policies and guidance, including Risk Management, and the provision of SME support to tackle the challenge of overcoming the ever-increasing complexity in undertaking Defence Acquisition and Sustainment.

Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative strategic thinker, has excellent leadership skills, is proactive, has a highly developed communication skillset and excellent attention to detail. They will also need to possess the ability to work under limited direction to lead Branch initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring the following attributes and skills to the role:
Prior experience with CASG’s Information Management systems and tools, particularly with Predict! Risk Controller;
Ability to proactively, and effectively, engage, collaborate and sustain productive relationships with team members and external stakeholders;
Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills;
Ability to develop and maintain Project Management data, policy documents and processes in accordance with agreed procedures and standards;
Understanding of, and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements;
Exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice;
Ability to lead and work effectively within a collaborative, small-team environment.
