Drafting Technologist

Van Harberden Consulting Inc. is primarily focused on serving the agricultural industry with structural engineering services. Our staff have a strong farm background and understand the unique needs of farm clients. We work closely with our clients to produce construction drawings with functional designs that are straightforward to build.
JOB SUMMARY
The drafting technologist will work with engineering staff and the customer to produce structural drawings for construction using AutoCAD and/or Revit. The technologist will also be responsible for customer correspondence and information gathering as well as preliminary building design and framing layouts. Additional duties such as completing detail design and conducting site reviews will be assigned as knowledge and experience are gained.
DUTIES RESPONSABILITIES
Follow standards and procedures to create structural construction drawings
Project coordination to accommodate client requests and acquire missing information
Time management – manage workload to meet commitments
Complete preliminary design using VHC standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Architectural or Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of farm practices
Proficiency in CAD: AutoCAD, Revit
Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings
Strong working knowledge of OBC
Self-driven, positive attitude and desire to excel
Excellent attention to detail
Strong trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills
Proficient in written and spoken English
