Dim Sum chef
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dim Sum Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chinese cuisine, with specific expertise in the art of dim sum preparation and presentation. The Dim Sum Chef will be responsible for creating a diverse range of dim sum dishes, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency, and contributing to menu development. Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook a variety of dim sum dishes, including but not limited to dumplings, buns, rolls, and desserts. • Ensure all dim sum dishes are cooked and presented according to established recipes and standards of quality. • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels. • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new and innovative dim sum recipes and menu offerings. • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper dim sum preparation techniques and presentation methods. • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. • Assist with special events and catering functions as required. • Stay updated on current culinary trends and techniques related to dim sum cuisine. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Dim Sum Chef or relevant role in a high-volume restaurant environment. • Extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine, particularly dim sum, with a strong focus on flavor profiles and traditional cooking methods. • Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institution is preferred. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills. • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning and delicious dim sum dishes. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management. • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
