Job Salary: $125,000 - $149,000
Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a well-qualified Contracting Specialist to support a team dedicated to mission success. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely with professionals committed to excellence and innovation.
You will work closely with Contracting Officers from the Space Systems Command’s Commercial Space Office (SSC/CMK) to support the planning and execution of acquisitions across a range of products and services. Your efforts will help ensure compliance with government regulations and support the procurement of commercial services and capabilities for the United States Space Force and Department of Defense.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in contract management, a solid understanding of acquisition processes, and the ability to manage complex tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Compensation Minimum: $125,000
Compensation Maximum: $149,000

Contracting Specialist Skills and Experience required:
Active Secret Clearance
Remote work opportunity
4+ years of experience in government contracting (Contracting Officer experience preferred)
Strong working knowledge of both CON-IT and KTFS systems
Extensive experience providing cradle-to-grave contract support
Proven ability to conduct market research and develop pre- and post-award solicitation documentation
Skilled in reviewing proposals for regulatory compliance, supporting source selection, and evaluating contract or engineering change proposals
Comprehensive understanding of FAR and DFARS, with hands-on experience working with DCAA and DCMA to ensure full compliance
Education / Certifications
Contracting Specialist Education and Certifications required:
Bachelor’s degree (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Contracting Professional Certification, or equivalent industry certification (e.g., Certified Federal Contract Manager™)

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
