Staten Solar (www.statensolar.com) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Corporate Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate must have substantial experience in the construction industry, particularly in construction-related project finance. Candidates with experience in the energy sector will be given higher preference, with a strong focus on renewable energy, and top marks for solar industry experience. Proficiency in American English and familiarity with U.S. law especially California law are key requirements (though not mandatory).
Key Responsibilities:
· Drafting and reviewing a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
· Conducting legal research and analysis to support business initiatives.
· Advising on legal matters related to corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
· Representing the company in legal proceedings, as needed.
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and mitigate legal risks.
· Participating in client calls with U.S. clients, which may require late-night or early-morning availability.
Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of corporate law principles and practices, with significant experience in the construction industry.
• Extensive background in construction-related project finance.
• Proficiency in American English.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the energy sector is highly desirable, with preference given to renewable energy, and top consideration for solar industry experience.
• Familiarity with U.S. law, especially California law (strongly preferred but not required).
• Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a focus on construction and project finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant legal software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
