Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas.
Handle and store food items appropriately, following food safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely production of food.
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent food spoilage or contamination.
Assist in the receiving, inspection, and storage of food and supplies.
Portion, plate, and garnish dishes as instructed by the senior kitchen staff.
Support the kitchen team in maintaining inventory levels and minimizing waste.
Assist in the preparation of mis-en-place and ensure adequate stock levels of ingredients.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.
Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Actively participate in training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Commis in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred.
Basic understanding of culinary techniques and principles.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
