Child Care Worker/Summer Camp Teacher - Student Position

Child Care United of Leeds and Grenville has an exciting opportunity available for students! We are seeking two individuals looking to expand their experience and knowledge of childcare, child development and education. The positions are available from June 27th, 2025 to August 22nd, 2025, Monday through Friday for 35-40 hours per week.

If you are a dedicated and skilled individual that has a passion for working with children and youth in a supportive setting, we are looking for you! Common duties will include the supervision of children, facilitation of activities and games and program planning all while having a ton of fun.

Our team of educators are focused on delivering programs that challenge and engage the children through play, creativity and imagination. We are committed to providing quality care and opportunities for each child. Our organization provides exciting and educational programs for children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years of age; we have locations in both Gananoque and Lansdowne. The positions will provide opportunities to work with children 4-12 years of age within Gananoque.

The student positions will have the opportunity to learn and work alongside our knowledgeable staff, learning the skills needed to work in a licensed childcare centre, how to provide inquiry-based programming.

As a member of our team, we are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, loving, patient, creative individuals who promote security and self-confidence and are committed to quality care. The individuals must be professional, flexible, and have an ability to problem solve.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolling in post-secondary school, or currently enrolled and continuing in post-secondary school (programs such Early Childhood Education, Developmental Service Worker, Behavioural Science, Social Service Worker, Teacher Education, etc., an asset)
Must be 18 years or older as of June 27th, 2025 for eligibility for position within licensed child care
Available for flexible shifts
Up to date First Aid and CPR (Level C)
Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
Up to date Immunizations (including TB test)
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Active knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, ELECT, an asset
Schedule and Compensation:

Applicants must be available for shifts ranging during centre’s operational hours (Monday to Friday)
Scheduled between 35-40 hours per week.
$1+.+0 per hour
Location: Gananoque
Requirements:

Position partially funded through the Government of Canada's Canada Summer Jobs program. As a requirement set forth by the Government, participants must be under the age of 30 years at the start of employment as well as a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible under the Government of Canada's definition of participant.
