The Southport Surf Club Supporters Club, a renowned dining establishment in Main Beach, QLD, is seeking an experienced Chef to join their team.
The Role:
Full-time position with an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation.
Responsible for creating and updating the pub menu, focusing on local produce and sustainability.
Develop recipes and maintain food standards through precise measurements.
Manage food suppliers and purchase equipment from local wholesalers.
Oversee stock management, ensuring minimal waste on daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Organize purchasing, shipping, storage, and delivery of ingredients.
Assist in hiring cooks and assistant staff, providing guidance and training.
Supervise and oversee activities of cooks and assistant staff, maintaining high-quality dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Discuss food preparation issues with senior staff and ensure compliance with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards.
Requirements:
Relevant qualifications in cookery.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Experience and knowledge in modern Australian pub cuisine is essential.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage a team effectively.
Must have full availability to work weekends, evenings, and Public Holidays.
