Full job description
At Joe Fortes, we are passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. Our dedication to quality sets up apart in the Vancouver community. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for a specific station in the kitchen on a given shift, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to execute menu items and maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment while under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items in your assigned section according to recipes and company standards. Oversee and manage other team members working alongside you.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes are always maintained.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff that you work alongside.
Monitor and manage inventory for your station, including ordering supplies where applicable and minimizing/tracking waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation and the overall kitchen.
Follow health and safety guidelines as set out by Food Safe and Vancouver Coastal Health for food preparation and handling.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and efficient kitchen operations.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations daily, and for special events.
Qualifications

Two years experience in a past faced kitchen environment.
Valid Food Safe certificate is required.
Red Seal Endorsement in Culinary Arts is an asset.
First aid certificate is an asset.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe food handling procedures.
Familiarity with a variety of kitchen equipment and tools, as well as basic cooking methods.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.00-$27.25 per hour
