Job Title: Container Delivery Driver
Summary:
Responsible for delivering and picking up containers to/from customer locations while maintaining excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a commercial driver's license and be able to operate a patented lift mechanism in a safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load/unload containers at customer sites safely.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift, and log results.
Acknowledge additional deliveries as required to meet business needs.
Use a company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane as needed.
Clean and inspect containers before delivery to ensure they are presentable.
Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer inquiries and issues.
Perform container and lift repairs in the field and at the storage center.
Assist with storage center functions when necessary.
Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab.
Management Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role typically reports to a Management position, with direct supervisors including Market Managers and Territory Managers.
The job is not directly responsible for managing other employees.
Requirements:
A valid CDL Class B License without air brake restrictions.
A current/valid driver's license.
Meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
Be at least 21 years old (due to insurance requirements).
Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or be able to obtain one within a year (DOT requirement).
Have experience with electronic equipment and software (preferred).
Possess basic math skills.
Attend the required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
