Position Summary

As a Journeyperson Carpenter at the Calgary Stampede, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, constructing, and enhancing the infrastructure across Stampede Park. This position supports a diverse range of projects from general facility repairs to the fabrication of custom structures for year-round programming and events, including the iconic Calgary Stampede. You’ll be part of a collaborative and energetic team that takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and delivering exceptional experiences for our guests, clients, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Maintenance:

Construct, repair, and renovate buildings, event structures, fences, stages, platforms, and park infrastructure

Perform routine and emergency carpentry-related maintenance across the park

Install doors, windows, walls, framing, cabinetry, fixtures, and other structural components

Event Support Custom Builds:

Participate in setup and takedown of large-scale events, including custom scenic builds and temporary installations

Collaborate with Event Services, Technical Services, and other trades to bring creative concepts to life

Modify or adapt existing structures to meet event-specific requirements

Safety Quality Assurance:

Follow building codes, safety regulations, and company policies at all times

Inspect worksites, tools, and materials to ensure quality and compliance

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Team Collaboration Communication:

Work closely with other trades including electricians, plumbers, and scenic artists

Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions

Provide input on material selection, project planning, and timelines
