Job description
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Install exterior prefabricated products. Construct timber supports and cribbing. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Type of product: Power tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Construction specialization: Roofing. Parts specialization: Carpentry/woodworking machinery. Specialization or experience: Eavestroughing and flashing. Copper or metal roofs. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Tools.
