Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Counties Manukau provides a range of district-wide services offering specialist mental health interventions to various high-risk populations residing in the southern regions of Auckland (Counties Manukau district). We invite psychologists with the appropriate professional expertise and skills - or an interest in developing skills in one of the specialist areas, to consider our roles. Our district-wide teams offer you a chance to work in vibrant and skilled multidisciplinary teams and to develop your specialist clinical skills.

We have the following positions available across our District-Wide Services:

Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP)

Based at Middlemore Hospital, MHSOP is a multi-disciplinary Mental Health service that includes an inpatient ward and a community team. MSHOP primarily focuses on assessing and treating service users aged 65 years and over. Our psychologists provide specialist assessments, and cohort-focused interventions and consultations within the community.

Regional Dual Disability Service (RDDS)

RDDS is a regional specialist team providing assessment, intervention, and consultation for adult clients with both psychiatric disorders and intellectual disabilities. Our psychologists provide specialist assessments, consultation, and treatment planning in collaboration with the appropriate community supports.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

Registered or eligible for NZ Psychology Board registration under the general or clinical scope of practice
Hold a current annual practising certificate or eligible to apply for one
A minimum 12 months practical experience in clinical psychology or equivalent
Full, clean driver’s licence
