About the role
We are looking for a fabulous Café Assistant to work at our in our lovely Greenwich Gardens Village based in Unsworth Heights, North Auckland. You will provide Barista and Café services in our established café. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will be providing exceptional service to our Residents and their friends, while also helping provide a great dining experience!
Shifts are 5 days on and 2 days off rotating so some weekend work will be required. Start times vary 7:30am/8am/9am with corresponding finish times. 8.5 hours shifts.
Some of the great things you will be doing:
Taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
Making amazing cups of coffee (semi-automatic machine)
Serving and collecting meals in our café
Assisting the Cook with food prep in the Kitchen
Operating the cash register
General cleaning including café equipment and washing up in the kitchen
Additional Kitchen duties as and when required
About you
You will have exceptional customer service skills, a vibrant and welcoming personality, enjoy giving service with a smile and you can effortlessly juggle several tasks at once. With some barista experience, some things that will support your application include:
Impeccable personal presentation
A warm and friendly nature and a 'Can do attitude'
Mature and reliable with exceptional communication skills
A good command of spoken and written English
A Hygiene Food Handling Certificate (not essential) as well as and/or commercial kitchen experience
